Protecting Children When Families Face Crisis

We support non-offending caregivers in Charles County by coordinating safety, advocacy, and system navigation to help protect minor children affected by family violence and instability.

We are currently serving a limited number of families by referral or appointment as we build a coordinated access model.

Immediate danger? Call 911 or local emergency services.

Who we serve

Families in crisis often interact with multiple systems at once — courts, schools, social services, and community providers — without coordination or support. We focus on non-offending caregivers who are seeking to protect minor children and stabilize their family during periods of transition or crisis.

Caregivers protecting children

Support for parents/guardians working to reduce children’s exposure to violence, coercive control, or unsafe instability.

Families navigating systems

Guidance through court, school, and agency processes so families don’t face complex systems alone.

High-barrier situations

Help when transportation, disability, childcare needs, or financial abuse make it difficult to access support.

What we do

We provide coordinated, trauma-informed support designed to reduce system fragmentation and survivor burden.

Child-inclusive safety planning

Practical planning that considers children’s routines, school needs, visitation concerns, and safety risks.

Advocacy & system navigation

Support to understand options, prepare next steps, and navigate processes with clarity and dignity.

Coordinated referrals

Warm handoffs to community partners, with follow-up to reduce drop-off and improve continuity.

What we do not do

To remain focused and avoid duplication, we do not provide emergency response, shelter, long-term therapy, forensic interviews, or legal representation.

Pilot phase

We are building a coordinated access model carefully and responsibly. During this pilot phase, services are limited and may change as we learn what works best for families and partners.

Limited availability

We serve a limited number of families by appointment or referral, based on scope, capacity, and safety considerations.

Documenting outcomes

We track non-identifying service data to strengthen future coordination, funding, and responsible expansion.

Partner alignment

We collaborate with community providers and systems to improve referrals and reduce fragmentation.
